Project SAKSHAM
Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta inaugurated Project SAKSHAM on 9 July 2026 at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Shalimar Village, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. Implemented by Ladli Foundation Trust with CSR support from Honeywell, the programme aims to strengthen digital education, STEM learning, adolescent health and holistic development across government schools in Delhi, Pune, Gurugram and Bengaluru
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Ashish Modi, President, Honeywell Asia Pacific; Mr. Prashanth Balarama, CSR Head, Honeywell; Mr. Devendra Kumar, Founder, Ladli Foundation Trust; Ms. Pankhuri Singhal, CEO, Ladli Foundation Trust; senior government officials, education stakeholders and representatives of the partner organisations.
During the ceremony, the Hon’ble Chief Minister inaugurated several interventions developed under Project SAKSHAM, including:
AI-enabled Smart School Toilets
STEM Innovation Labs
Computer laboratories
Smart classrooms
Adolescent health and wellness initiatives
These facilities are designed to create safe, dignified, inclusive and technology-enabled learning environments for students in government schools.
An Integrated Approach to Adolescent Development
Project SAKSHAM—Strengthening Adolescent Knowledge and Skills for Health and Aspirational Minds — addresses the interconnected educational, health, sanitation and social protection needs of adolescent girls.
STEM Innovation Labs and computer laboratories promote scientific curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and experiential learning. Smart classrooms make education more interactive and accessible while helping students develop the digital skills needed for a technology-driven future.
The programme also delivers age-appropriate awareness on menstrual health, nutrition, personal hygiene, sanitation and emotional well-being. Its AI-enabled Smart School Toilets provide hygienic and dignified sanitation facilities that can help improve attendance and prevent girls from missing classes or discontinuing their education due to inadequate infrastructure.
By helping adolescent girls remain connected to education, understand their rights and develop future-ready skills, Project SAKSHAM also works as a form of social protection. It seeks to reduce vulnerability to school dropout, exploitation, gender-based discrimination and child marriage while enabling girls to pursue futures shaped by education, independence and opportunity.
Government-School Students Selected for Space Science Programme
A major highlight of the inauguration was the felicitation of five outstanding government-school students selected to participate in a Space Science Programme at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in the United States.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister presented the students with their air tickets and congratulated them on their achievement. All expenses related to their participation are being supported by Ladli Foundation Trust and Honeywell.
Their selection demonstrates what students from underserved communities can achieve when provided with meaningful exposure, mentorship, encouragement and access to quality learning opportunities.
Project SAKSHAM is more than an infrastructure initiative—it is a long-term investment in the education, health, safety, dignity and aspirations of young girls. Through this partnership, Ladli Foundation Trust and Honeywell are strengthening public education, expanding access to technology and empowering students to learn, innovate and lead with confidence.
