RUN FOR LADLI
Turning Bystanders into Protectors
Inaugurated by the then-Honorable Home Minister of India, ‘Run for Laadli’is more than a marathon; it is a landmark movement for gender sensitisation. Organised in partnership with the Delhi Police, this event at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium brought together over 25,000 people to run for a safer, more respectful India.
A BOLD APPROACH TO SOCIAL REFORM
While most marathons attract professional runners, Run for Laadli focused on the heart of the issue.
Targeted Outreach : We identified 20,000 young men from underserved neighborhoods who were at risk of falling into negative social behaviors.
The 3-Day Transformation : Before the race, these men underwent an intensive Gender Sensitisation Workshop. We didn't lecture them; we spoke to them about dignity, empathy, and their vital role as protectors of their sisters and communities.
Healing the Divide : By working directly with 188 local police stations, the program replaced fear and suspicion with a sense of partnership and social responsibility.
THE IMPACT
For many participants, this was the first time they were seen as part of the solution rather than the problem.
The Pledge : Thousands of men stood together to publicly vow to prevent violence against women and respect the dignity of the girl child.
Beyond the Finish Line : The event served as a bridge to a better life, connecting unemployed youth with police mentorship and career guidance, steering them away from crime and toward community service.
